The Very Quiet Cricket (RM37.90)
Price: RM37.90
Product details
Author: Eric Carle
Reading level: Baby-Preschool
Board book: 26 pages
Publisher: Philomel (May 19, 1997)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0399226842
ISBN-13: 978-0399226847
Product Dimensions: 7 x 5 x 0.8 inches
Review from Publisher's Weekly:
A small cricket hatches "one warm day," and the other insects greet him. Though the little guy wants very much to respond, nothing happens when he rubs his wings together. Finally, as night falls, he spies another cricket and attempts to greet her. "And this time . . . he chirped the most beautiful sound that she had ever heard." As usual, Carle's art is lovely and his story is simple and satisfying. But this book has something The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Very Busy Spider didn't have: an electronic chirping mechanism activated by the turning of the last page. Though the surprisingly realistic noise may get on parents' nerves, it will certainly intrigue and entertain its intended audience.
Rated 4.5/5 stars on Amazon.com!

ISBN-10: 0399234276
ISBN-13: 978-0399234279
Product Dimensions: 7.1 x 4.9 x 0.9 inches
Another great book for Eric Carle's fans (both the kiddo and the adult). There is a surprise at the end of the book... The firefly buzzes off in search of companionship, but keeps following other lights by mistake--a candle, a flashlight, a lantern--and these in turn are all leading in the direction of a fireworks display. Finally, the lonely firefly finds the friends it is seeking--a dozen or more other fireflies. The firefly's new group of friends start to flash (from tiny yellow bulbs embedded in the book) as you turn the last page. (The battery is replaceable.)

Product Dimensions: 7.6 x 5.7 x 0.5 inches
Amazon Rating: 4.5 stars (134 customer ratings)
This book teaches on the power of love in a manner that the child can relate to.
Amazon.com review:
A stuffed toy rabbit comes to life in Margery Williams's timeless tale of the transformative power of love. Given as a Christmas gift to a young boy, the Velveteen Rabbit lives in the nursery with all of the other toys, waiting for the day when the Boy (as he is called) will choose him as a playmate. In time, the shy Rabbit befriends the tattered Skin Horse, the wisest resident of the nursery, who reveals the goal of all nursery toys: to be made "real" through the love of a human. "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.'" This sentimental classic--perfect for any child who's ever thought that maybe, just maybe, his or her toys have feelings--has been charming children since its first publication in 1922. (A great read-aloud for all ages, but children ages 8 and up can read it on their own.)
